Andermatt is the main town in the holiday region of the same name and is located in the Ursern Valley at around 1,400 m above sea level. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe already appreciated the alpine idyll and raved about the picturesque mountain village. As a year-round holiday resort, visitors are offered a lot: golf, hiking, wellness or winter sports are just a small selection of offerings where everyone gets what they are looking for. In recent years, the holiday region has invested and continues to invest heavily: the Andermatt and Sedrun ski areas have been merged to form the "Ski Arena Andermatt-Sedrun", the luxury hotel The Chedi Andermatt, which is also fully fitted with Joro doors (see Türen-Magazin (Doors Magazine) 2014, page 30 ff.), was opened. The Radisson Blu Reussen, the first four-star hotel in the canton, started in the 2018/19 winter season.
